"Scarlett is a fast paced story with a lot to tell. It's a simple cause and effect style set up with its own flair of individuality. The ending leaves you wanting more, and it withholds telling you too much right away. It brings a modern theme, common today, and mixes it with 90s slasher theoretics. The art is bright and defined while being dark and twisted when It needs to be, while giving you a feeling like the liVe stream interactions we all love to have with those we admire. In a sentence I'd put it like this: Scarlett is isekai meets slasher; Sword Art Online meets Wes Craven."

"What can I say about about Scarlett? Let's first set the scene, I'm very much like Ray... I hate most things! I am mostly only drawn to horror/gore type comics so when Ray first explained the concept of Scarlett I was a little sceptical about whether I'd enjoy it... What I'm not sceptical about is Ray's attention to detail and so I dived right in, grabbing myself a pack. Opening the first page I was immediately impressed with the artwork, colours and layout... I was impressed, but not drawn in so far, still sceptical. As I followed the story in a few pages I could feel my interest growing... My one complaint so far, I found the dialogue a little staccato but having most of the dialogue from one person is tricky but will hopefully grow with depth as the character expands. It was about a third of the way through when I had a breakthrough moment, I'm not sure why, but I was instantly transported back to my youth and a show I used to watch (if you're not British and born early 80s this mean nothing to you)... "Holy shit, he's created an modern comic version of Nightmare" I cried out. Wow!!! Well done, not only have you drawn me in but for a second you gave me that youthful spark that we all look for in comics! No longer sceptical, can't wait for #2, bring it on!"
